VROOM – The Venue Resource of Original Music is an extensive searchable database that contains venue information including production, facilities, booking and general information. The design allows for musicians and music industry personnel to customize their searches and contains extensive regional touring information. As an extension to the database VROOM is also a resource centre and support project for venues and the music industry.
Tracy approached MusicNSW with a pilot proposal in 2003 to develop a state based venue touring database and with support from MusicNSW, APRA/AMCOS, ArtsNSW, TAFENSW and the VROOM subcommittee, VROOM NSW was launched in May 2006 at Parliament House. With APRA’s commitment to the project as the principle sponsor and with the support of AMIN, The Australia Council, Arts NSW, Arts Vic, Arts Tas, MusicSA and industry personnel on the VROOM advisory group, the project was rolled out nationally and VROOM beta was launched in May 2009. The project was licenced to Peer Group Media in 2010.
